Farallon Consulting LLC is looking to select one student or recent graduate to intern in our firm’s headquarters in Issaquah, Washington. The ideal candidate will have an anticipated graduation date in 2025 (currently in Junior standing 2024) and currently pursuing a degree focused in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. Farallon Consulting, L.L.C. (Farallon), is a 100+ person environmental consulting firm with offices in Issaquah, Seattle, Gig Harbor, Wenatchee, and Bellingham, Washington; Portland and Baker City, Oregon; Oakland and Irvine, California.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Marketing Intern at Farallon, you will work closely with our CEO and marketing team to implement strategies aimed at elevating the CEO’s social media presence and increasing personal brand awareness. You will be responsible for creating compelling written content, managing social media platforms, and contributing to the overall marketing efforts of the company.

This is a paid, part-time position for approximately 10 weeks with potential for extension based on performance and project needs. Expected time commitment is approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. The start and completion dates of the internship are flexible and will be determined with the selected candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase the CEO’s visibility and possibly other key employees, and engagement across various platforms, including but not limited to LinkedIn, X, and Instagram.
  • Create and curate relevant, engaging content for social media channels, including posts, articles, and multimedia content.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, news, and opportunities to engage with the CEO’s and possibly other key employees, audience in real-time.
  • Assist in the development of a content calendar for the CEO and possibly other key employees’ social media accounts, ensuring consistent and timely posting of content.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and target audience preferences to inform content creation and strategy.
  • Write and edit blog posts, articles, and other written content to support CEO and possibly other key employees’ personal brand and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and social media teams to align social media and content efforts with overall marketing objectives and campaigns.
  • Analyze social media metrics and performance data to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies in social media marketing and content creation.
  • Assist with other marketing tasks and projects as needed to support the overall goals of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current student (or recent graduate) pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their respective best practices for engagement and growth.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas for content and social media campaigns.
  • Basic knowledge of content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and eagerness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to commute to Issaquah, Washington on a regular basis.

PAY RANGE: $20-$25/hour
